Many a times you might have heard about someone having 6 fingers in each hand but what if you happen to know that there's someone in this planet having altogether 31 fingers. Yep! one such case has come into light, where a parent of 3 month old baby from Hunan Province of China are appealing for financial support to perform surgery on their child who has 31 fingers and toes. In Medical terms this condition is an extreme case of polydactyly which would cost tens of thousands of dollars to treat which the impoverished family is not able to afford.

Baby is affectionately called as honghong and the prenatal scans did not confirm any abnormalities. However it is only after the birth the child was found to have such deformity. Doctors have told the family that the surgery would be extremely challenging considering the age of the baby but the parents are desperate to find a treatment. Surgery need to be done between the ages of six months to a year before the bones are set.

Polydactyly is a medical condition where it is said to affect one in 1000 of cases. Though this high number of fingers and toes is rarest of rare.
Honghong's mother has also undergone surgery multiple times in her life as she was also born with extra digits on her hand and she feared the same on her child.
